When the curtain is raised for the second edition of the GT Fashion Weekend, 20 designers from home and abroad, established and upcoming,  will put their creatve works on the catwalk before a mammoth audience in Lagos.

Beside the glitz and glamour of the runway shows, a series of interactive Master Classes will also hold side by side,  manned by icons in the fashion value chain. Award- winning Designer, Giles Deacon, reality TV personality and runway coach J Alexander, publisher of British Vogue Magazine, Vanessa Kingori, Editor in-Chief of Essence Magazine, Vanessa De Luca as well as multi-talented,  photographer TY Bello will be on hand to share their wealth of experiences with fashion enthusiasts.

Head, Communications and External Affairs, GT Bank, Mrs Oyinade Adegbite

Making this revelation at a press conference yesterday in Lagos, Managing Director, Guarantee Trust Bank, Mr Segun Agbaje represented by  Head of Communications and External Affairs, Mrs Oyinade Adegite, noted that beside the traditional functions of the bank,  GT is moving away a bit from its core duties to doing things to support the capacity of its customers.  She said it is the wish of the bank to build the capacity of SMEs through the master classes using these professionals who are masters of their crafts.

Mr Segun Agbaje said,  “The Weekend will not only give visibility to the amazing talents and entrepreneurial drive of our people at home, it will also connect them with fashion leaders abroad, in order to build local capacity and expertise across The entire Fashion Value Chain,”

This initiative he said will unlock growth opportunities for small businesses and put Africa fashion on a global pedestal.

The two- day event scheduled for the 11th-12th Of October, will also feature exhibitors with online  presene, who have affordable and available stocks and who are able to do some promotions on their own.

Created to showcase the best of Africa’s Fashion to a global audience and promote the effervescent enterprise of the continent’s growing fashion industry, the GTBank Fashion weekend is a free business platform that brings together indigenous SMEs in the fashion space to learn from and interact with fashion leaders from across the globe whilst making record sales to tens of thousands of consumers who throng to the 2-day event to experience the best of Africa’s fashion.
