13 Interesting facts about actress, Rita Dominic as she clocks 43 today!

Award-winning actress, Rita Uchenna Nkem Dominic Waturuocha is plus one today.

She was born on July 12, 1975, in Nigeria.

She has appeared in over 100 movies and is a director/producer’s delight for her ability to thoroughly embody the characters she portrays.

Here is a look at some things about her.

She is a member of the Royal Waturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise local government area in Imo State

She is the youngest of four siblings

Her late parents were medical practitioners; her father was a medical doctor and her mother a nursing officer.

She attended the Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

She holds a BA (Honours) Degree in Theatre Arts in 1999 from the University of Harcourt.

She started performing when she was a child, appearing in school plays and children’s television shows in Imo State.

Rita moved to Lagos in 1998 to join the Nigerian film industry, now known as Nollywood.

Her first role was lead female in Basorge Tariah’s production titled “My Guy” directed by Obi Osotule and also starring comedian Ali Baba.

After having acted in over 100 movies, in 2012, Rita co-produced her first film “The Meeting” for The Audrey Silva Company (TASC), which she co-founded with renowned Nigeria director Mildred Okwo.

Her debut co-production credit in “The Meeting” has earned her multiple awards including the prestigious “New Era Award” at the 2014 AMVCA awards and 2015 Best Producer in Comedy.

According to Forbes, in 2016, Rita was the richest actress in Nigeria. Her net worth then was estimated to be about one billion Naira.

Rita is fluent in Igbo, English and a bit of Yoruba

She dreams of going international, acting alongside fellow actors and actresses in Hollywood whom she admires and draws inspiration from

She exercises for two hours daily to relieve stress and ensures she takes proper diet to keep her attractive looks and maintain her well-contoured body.

Her hobbies include reading, traveling, watching movies, singing and acting
