Allure Tips: What to wear to a fashion show

The Fashion week festivities have begun. From London to New York, Milan and Paris, fashion lovers have something to look forward to starting from August, through September 2018.

Heading to any fashion show and you are wondering what to wear? Here are a few helpful styling tips.

Celebrate new trends

Consider what’s trending. Are there any particular trends you love? Now is the time to have fun with them! Bell sleeves and statement blouses are perfect since they can be styled in so many different ways for different events.

Play with colours

The “live colourfully” mantra shouldn’t be reserved for certain seasons. And, when all else fails, wear black. Black will always be in style.

Choose breathable fabrics

Choose particularly breathable fabrics, like cotton. Cotton is durable, versatile, and it breathes easier than synthetic fabrics, like polyester, nylon, latex, etc, and it’s universally comfortable.

Don’t sacrifice comfort

Wear something chic that allows for mobility. Wear something you can breathe in. You want to enjoy your time at the fashion show, not be adjusting yourself and wiping away sweat all night. Depending on the weather, wrap dresses, maxi dresses, and wrap maxi dresses make great outfit options. Breezy jumpsuits and leggings are also chic yet generally comfortable options. A tailored pair of dark wash denim is always a safe bet, too.

Unless you are going for a formal event, keep a casual feel to your look. If you will be working during the occasion, you’ll want an outfit you can move around in.

Carry a clutch

A clutch or small cross body bag is most idle to complement your look.

At most fashion shows, you won’t have a whole lot of leg room or personal space. Plus, a lot goes on in a short amount of time and having to constantly keep an eye on your designer handbag gets frustrating.

Not only are small bags convenient, they’ll also deter you from bringing anything but the essentials with you.

Mind the weather

Considering seasonal trends is hugely important when deciding what to wear to a fashion show.

Choose your shoes wisely

Assess your level of anticipated activity during any major fashion event.

How much walking/running/standing/carrying will you be doing? Even though we all want the two extra two inches that come with a pair of stilettos, wear some comfortable shoes.

Classic is always fashionable

In a world full of trends, remain a classic. If you’re in a bind and you can’t decide on a new outfit, re-wear something classic. With a cold weather, you literally can’t go wrong with a black and white colour blocking or a simple LBD.

Also, remember the “less is more” approach. Think classic and polished.
