Family, friends, and well-wishers on Tuesday gathered at the graveside, of late Deji Tinubu, to celebrate his post-humous 54th birthday.
His wife, Yemisi and two children, Tamilore and Moyosoreoluwa laid wreaths on his grave.
Present at the event was Pastor Itua Ighodalo, who took turns to pray for the widow and children after the brief ceremony.
Deji was the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Commerce and Industry until his death on January 25, 2018.
Born on July 31, 1966, he slumped and died while playing a novelty football match in Epe, during the retreat of the Lagos State Executive Council.
An engineer turned sports journalist cum administrator, he was a diehard fan of Nottingham Forest FC of England.

Deji gained recognition as a radio and television sports analyst as one of the founders of sports broadcast organisation, SportsVision, with his business partners Deji Omotoyinbo and Bode Oguntuyi. They gained popularity with their sports programme on Cool Fm at 7.30 am weekdays.

He served as chairman of the Lagos State Sports Commission before he was elected as a member of the NFF executive committee in 2010.

Tinubu was sworn in as Special Adviser on Sports and Chairman of the State’s Sports Commission on October 19, 2015.

His younger brother, Wale, is the CEO of Oando Plc.
