Why I still turn down marriage proposals – Monalisa Stephen, model

August 26,2018
Share:
During the week, the internet went agog after Nigerian plus sized model, Monalisa Stephen called out a young woman who bullied her for refusing to marry her elder brother.
Allure Vanguard reached out to the 26- year old busty Fashion designer cum model, who narrated the genesis of the drama and why she is still rejecting marriage proposals.

Hear her: “I used to feel bad and depressed about my big boobs, but that’s way behind me now. I just smile and wave it off. So, sometime ago, a lady messaged me on Facebook that her brother abroad wants to marry me but I declined. She was so persistent and it was getting on my nerves. I told her, I can’t marry someone I don’t know, let’s give it time but she didn’t agree.
Then she started to publicly write some hateful comments on my pictures and I delete them and ignore. I eventually deleted that account due to fraudsters using my pictures to scam people. But it was a surprise for her to come for me on my new account. I didn’t know she still hate me,” she said.
On why she keeps rejecting eligible marriage suitors, Monalisa, said at 26, she is not ready to settle down.
“I’m not ready for marriage. I think marriage is a big thing that we shouldn’t rush into. I think marriage is beautiful thing but it’s not an achievement, so I’m not thinking about it for now. I don’t know when I will be ready,” she asserted.
