2018 dealt me the greatest blow ever, says Funke Bucknor-Obruthe

Funke Bucknor-Obruthe, sister to the late broadcaster, Tosyn Bucknor has stated that 2018 dealt her the greatest blow ever.

Recall that Funke lost her only sister, Tosyn in November due to complications arising from sickle cell anaemia.

In a post on Instagram on late Monday night, Funke revealed she and her mum could not bring themselves to going for the crossover service because they were wondering how they would cope in 2019, without her voice and presence.

She, however, stated that knowing that Tosyn is in a better place and the fact that she impacted so many lives, is what is helping them with the pain and hurt.

“It’s December 31st and I should be at a watch night service but I just can’t bring myself to go … I’m here with my mum and we are just both silent because we both know that by 12midnight Tosyn would have called to wish us a happy new year in our various locations … We’ve also tried distracting ourselves with conversations that don’t really mean much.

“We are also just sighing and probably wondering how we would cope in 2019, without her voice and presence.

“It’s been really tough especially for people like myself and my mum that are not very emotional…. but the comfort we both have is that she’s in a better place and she impacted so many lives. This is truly helping with the pain and the hurt.

“It’s easy to get angry at God, believe me, I’ve been there but at the same time, I know that there is a greater purpose and reason for all that happened and He alone knows best … I really really really miss you Oluwatosin( Oluwatosyn), Abisona , Yetunde , Ajayi Bucknor ….. This is one really really major nightmare that I have to wake from oh and I don’t wish on my worst enemy.

2019 must bring all of us joy oh.” She wrote.
