PLANNING FOR THE YEAR AHEAD (PART 1)

December 31,2018
Share:

Another year is just a few hours away and if you are yet to set goals for the coming year, you need to get on with it right away so you can hit the ground running. Every new year, we make various declarations rightly aided by declarations from our different places of worship “My year of increase”, “ My year of supernatural manifestations”, “My year of promotion”, “My year of awesome testimonies” etc. The themes differ year on year as each denomination is careful to introduce a new one each crossover night to give their members new levels of expectations and a renewed sense of hope in the lives of the members.

While it’s okay to declare and profess, there is absolutely nothing wrong with declarations; however we often forget to decidedly change our thought processes which invariably affect our actions which should deliberately be tailored towards our given year of what. E.g if you decide 2019 is your year of increase, you need to first define what increase is to you, in which areas?, how can you make that happen apart from only declaring or fasting and praying? What are the qualifications or knowledge / skill sets required to have access to in order to achieve your desired level/type of increase? , what are your plans and projections in making the increase happen? Same goes if it’s “My year of Victory“; the likely questions you need to ask yourself is Victory in which area? “My year of exceeding greatness”, ”My year of pleasant surprises”, ”My year of supernatural visitations” all sound great and encouraging but sadly, they rarely serve any real or sustaining purpose for someone with no plan or vision.

Without deliberately setting down plans and timelines and working towards it, declarations will just be mere words as usual. We all need to remember that YOU CAN’T KEEP DOING THE SAME THING YEAR IN/YEAR OUT AND EXPECT A DIFFERENT RESULT!

SINGLES

So are you single? I bet a lot of declarations for you from family and friends will be for you to find your life partner. This is certainly a good declaration for those who are single and searching, however; you may need to be more deliberate and strategic if you really need things to change.

  1. A) RELATIONSHIP MATTERS: you may need to take an honest appraisal of your relationship choices and actions that need adjustment or downright change.

  1. B) FRIENDSHIPS: There are friends you may have to limit your outings with and some you choose to move closer to base on values exhibited by them which you know may hinder or move you closer to your goal in the new year.
  2. C) EDUCATION: If desirable or necessary, do further your education. Get a Masters or even a second degree. Learn a vocation or training in any skill of interest. These give you the opportunity to meet new people and who knows, you may end up meeting your life partner. And even if you don’t, you would have learnt something new or different. Remember, no knowledge is lost.
