Popular Nollywood actress, Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde, will join fellow Nigerians, Wunmi Mosaku, Femi Odugbemi and Ngozi Onwurah among others to determine the winners of the 2019 Oscar on Sunday, February 24, 2019.

The 91st edition of the Academy Awards, also known as the Oscar award, is scheduled to hold on Sunday, at the Dolby Theatre, Los Angeles.

The Nigerians are among 928 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures and movies.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde was invited to join the Academy under the ‘Actor’ category in 2018.

The 41-year-old screen goddess received recognition for her roles in two Nollywood hit movies, ‘Last Flight to Abuja,’ and ‘A Private Storm.’

She was welcomed to the Academy at an invitation-only reception in 2018, participating in the voting of final nominees of the Oscar award, which was released in January.

On her part, Wunmi Mosaku is a Nigerian-born British actress.

She was also invited to become a member of the Academy in the ‘Actor’ category.

Wunmi, 32, won the 2017 BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actress.

She received recognition from the Academy for her part in a superhero movie, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and magical movie, ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.’

Also among the judges is a veteran movie director, Femi Odugbemi.

Odugbemi is the director of popular TV series, ‘Battleground’ and ‘Tinsel.’

He was invited to join the Academy under the ‘Documentary’ category in 2018, due to his works in ‘Literature, Language, and Literalism,’ and ‘Bariga Boy.’

He will also join other judges of the Academy to cast his vote this week to determine who wins at the Academy Awards on Sunday.

The last Nigerian judge is Ngozi Onwurah, a 53-year-old British-Nigerian film director, producer, model, and lecturer.

Ngozi Onwurah was recognised by the Academy in the ‘short film and feature animation’ section for her two films, ‘Hang Time,’ and ‘The Body Beautiful.’
