Lady Gaga wins Oscar award for best original song
American musician, Lady Gaga, on Sunday, picked up her first Oscar award, in the best original song category for ‘Shallow,’ from the movie, A Star is Born.
The 32-year-old musician received a standing ovation from the audience for her performance of the award-winning song with a cast member, Bradley Cooper.
Rather than walk on from backstage, the pair emerged from the crowd and walked up the steps where a piano was waiting for them before commencing their performance.
The award makes Lady Gaga the first musician in history to win at the Golden Globes, Grammy’s, BAFTAs and Oscars within the same award circuit.
Lady Gaga appreciated her family in her acceptance speech, she said: “I love you mom and dad, Bradley. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you so much.”
