Lagos State Gubernatorial candidate,Babajide Sanwo-Olu together with experts discuss financial inclusion at SMWLagos 2019
Lagos State gubernatorial candidate,Babjide Sanwo-Olu served as one of the panelists discussing ‘Inclusion for all: Making financial inclusion a reality in Nigeria’ at the on-going Social Media Week Lagos 2019.
He graced the stage with Nkem Okacha,founder of Mama Moni Nigeria, Jay Alabraba, Co-founder and Director of Business Development, Paga, Nurudeen Abubakar Zauro, Technical advisor,CBN, Dr Olayinka David-West, Academic Director at Lagos Business School.
The masterclass session was centred on financial inclusion and accessibility to bank for all in terms credit,savings, loans,insurance and more.
The gubernatorial candidate used the platform to make campaign promises. According to him,if elected he would include the ‘poorest of the poor’ to partake in financial activities in Lagos.
He also urged the CBN to process modalities of Payment Service Banks (PSB) document so that those unbanked especially at the rural areas are compliant with financial activities by 2020.
He said:
“I want to urge the apex bank to ramp up conversation and work with the telecoms to meet its set target of 80% financial inclusion by 2020”
