I was mocked, bullied because of my skin colour – Beverly Naya

Dark and pretty actress, Beverly Naya, is ready to take on a new project to help tackle skin colour issues in Nigeria.

In a recent chat, the British-born Nigerian actress, recounted her personal encounter with Bobrisky, the controversial cross-dresser and bleaching cream seller.

According to the thespian, Bobrisky opened up to her on the pain of being a cross-dresser and maintaining a toned skin.

She said she’s still in shock from what she gathered from him and other Nigerians while she was researching on her up-coming documentary entitled “Skin”.
Ms. Naya assured that the documentary which will premiere on Sunday, March 31, would add to the dimension of film production in Nollywood.

“As an industry, we need to diversify. As a person, I need to impact on people. I grew up very difficult. I was bullied and I was mocked for my skin. Same problem is trending and I have to contribute my best to stop it. I interviewed about 30 people, including Bobrisky, for this project and I had the opportunity to travel to my home town, Delta, for the first time. I aim at being Nigeria prolific documentary expert,” she stated.
