5 Tips to work smart this Ramadan

To all Muslim faithfuls, the holy month of Ramadan is here again. To work smart this period, here are key things to note:

1. Plan ahead

Try to schedule meetings, calls and other activities. Know which requires more energy , the time slot and best output. Keeping your mind occupied can sometimes be a challenge during Ramadan especially when hunger can seep in as a distraction. Be careful to plan your days and decide ahead of time, what you will focus your time and attention on.

2. Have breaks

Don’t bury yourself in too much work. Sure, you could cut down on the number of breaks, but take a few moments every day to catch up with your co-workers. Maintaining interpersonal relations are important – especially during the holidays, because who knows if you need someone to help you with ideas or even offer to take on some of your workloads.

3. Do hard work when your energy is highest

It is mostly likely your energy would be highest just after eating the morning and evening meals. If possible, plan to do the bulk of your mentally or physically intensive work just after eating, when your mind and body are at their sharpest.

4. Limit distractions

Limit distractions so you would be able to fully concentrate on your work rather than the difficulties that you are experiencing. Some of the things that can be done include limiting daily use of social media and avoid talking about food.

5. Get home on time

Plan your day well, work smart, and finish on time so you can head home to break your fast, enjoy the feast and pray. You don’t have to immense yourself in so much work, plan effectively so that you can finish on time and arrive home early.
