Mo Abudu hails 15-year-old girl who defeated Venus Williams in Wimbledon open
Media mogul, Mo Abudu has hailed Coco Gauff, the 15-year-old American schoolgirl who defeated her idol, Venus Williams in the first round of the on-going Wimbledon Open.
Mo described the moment as “incredible.”
She charged Nigerian youths to get inspired about the achievement.
She wrote this on her Instagram page: “What an incredible moment at Wimbledon. 15-year-old Coco Gauff defeated her idol Venus Williams in the first round of Wimbledon.
“Incredible to see so much talent, dedication and focus in a 15-year-old. Not just any 15 years old, a young black African American girl. This is so so inspiring for all our youth. “If you can think it, you can do it.”
By defeating Venus, Coco, world number 301 became the youngest player to qualify for the main Wimbledon draw since the Open era began in 1968.
