Actress Lala Akindoju advises actors, producers and costume designers

Nollywood industry is currently the topic of the day on Twitter and actress, Lala Akindoju has decided to make her own contributions.

Taking to her Instagram page, the actress shared some advice for actors, producers, and costume designers.

According to her, it is essential for these people to work together so as to ensure a good work of art is created.

She said;

..One of the most important parts in helping an actor become a character is the costume and makeup. .
.
DEAR ACTOR, don’t argue or insist on your preferred style or make up when getting into character. The character is not you. Ask all your questions before your first day on set and go for fittings. Sort out personal inhibitions before coming on set. .
.
DEAR PRODUCER, hire the right professionals to do the job. Give enough time to the costume designer to prepare and release money on time so they get the costumes and do fittings before shoot starts. Also tell your actors at the point of hiring not to abuse, or dictate to the costume designer and his/her team. .
.
DEAR COSTUME DESIGNER, do your work. Read the script. Create costumes that portray and enhance the character. Insist on fittings and clearance before shoot starts. Check colours with art department and the director before concluding on the costume. Insist on proper pre production. .
.
Nollywood is a trending topic on Twitter at the moment, see my insta story for some of my thoughts. .
.
Throw back to playing ‘Bilikisu’ in IF ONLY, one of the short films from the #AccelerateFilmmakerProject2019.
