Is your age a barrier to you?
Shedrach struggled through everything and to his best of knowledge he has applied everything possible to get things working for him. But all his effort seem to be in vain.
He took a stroll to the pack with a gloomy sad expression while he wallowed in his thoughts.
“I will be 40 in a week time yet my life is a mess, nothing seem to be working in my favour, all the children I knew when they were giving birth to are mostly up and doing, some are even married with kids.
I am a failure to myself, at this age i will just go back to the village and become a peasant farmer, that way I can feed well since the cost of living is subsidized compared to what I spend here in the city.
It’s all finished, there is nothing I can possibly do at this age, it’s late for me. (an instinct suggested; Go and speak with John he might help you stand on your feet)”
Quickly he rebuked the spirit saying, “I can’t come so low to go speak with him, I was there when that boy was born, I was already out of secondary school.
Speaking to him is like insulting my ego, as an elder I should be the one dishing out the advice and wisdom not me going to him. This children will now take me for granted.”
There are lots of Shedrach who parade their age and allow it become a stumbling block to their growth.
They feel as seniors they are entitled to be consulted.
Truth is no one consults a failure who has nothing to show for himself or have an area of specialization.
No matter how old you are, humility to subject yourself to profitable wisdom regardless of whose dishing it out, is the first step of attaining success.
Increase in age doesn’t depict more wisdom.
Every day the knowledge you think you have becomes obsolete and to upgrade you need to be teachable and humble.
Learning from the person who is better equipped even if they are much younger is wisdom.
Every new day is an opportunity to make life changing decision, don’t let your age be a barrier.
Even at forty, your life can actually just begin.
It doesn’t matter who gets there first and when they did.
What matters is that you get there fulfilled and a happy person.
You can begin your journey at any age, all that is required is consistency, strong will and the God factor.
With him we no longer run a race but walk in grace.
Don’t be cornered by your age, it’s just the right time to be who you are created to be.
The world will still know you for being you.
Age is just a number, don’t let it suppress you.
