Nigerians now celebrate teenagers marrying their ancestors – Actress Georgina Onuoha

Few days ago, pandemonium broke out at the premises of Queens College in Lagos State when a teenage student was sent out of the school by security guards for applying making up, painting nails and fixing eyelashes.

In a swift reaction the drama, which later saw the mother of the erring student fight dirty with the security personnel, Nollywood actress turned Nurse, Georgina Onuoha has listed number of worrisome issues in Nigeria. She also indirectly called out Regina Daniels for marrying a man old to be her grandfather.

Ms Onuoha who is a mother of two teenage girls blamed the ugly situation on the Nigerian system and loss of moral values.

According to Georgina Onuoha, everyone is guilty and parents should be blamed for the rate of moral decadence in Nigeria.

She said: “Parents failed her (The Queen’s college student). She also failed herself and the voice of the school representative at the end of the video failed her. This is what you get in a society that encourages nonsense lifestyles, wrong morals, promotes TV Shows and reality shows, approves immoral decadence. In my era, we watched great programs like, Village Headmaster, Tales By Moonlight, I Need To Know.
But today, we present to our kids Big Brother Naija; where adults are naked and having intercourse on National TV. We celebrate teenagers marrying their ancestors, we idolize scammers and welcome absurdity. The Queen’s college student, is a reflection of our society. A reflection of her parenting and a society that has failed. I pray she gets good counseling. Reorientation of our society is highly needed.”
