Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., American rapper better known as Lil Wayne, says he is 53 percent Nigerian and would love to visit the country soon.

The award-winning singer disclosed this during a chat with N.O.R.E and DJ EFN on one of the episodes of ‘Drink Champ,’ a programme by Revolt TV .

During the show, N.O.R.E had asked the music superstar why he mentioned Nigeria in one of his songs. In his response, the 37-year-old had hinted he is a Nigerian, noting an ancestry test he had revealed he is linked to the country.

He also said he needs to see his mother and discuss his origin, stressing his interest to visit the country anytime soon.

“Shout out to Nigeria, I did my 23 and me ancestry dot com and my shit came back like 53% Nigerian. Yea! Me and my mum need to have a talk (Laughter),” he said.

”I gat to go to Nigeria…I gat to go see that place.”

The 37-year-old showbiz mogul had earlier hinted visiting the country last year, saying he has never been to the place before.

“I have never been to Nigeria and that is the place that I would love to go to, I have never been to Egypt. I heard Nigeria is lit. I had a whole different idea of the place,” the rapper had said.

The ‘Lollipop’ crooner recently dropped ‘Funeral,’ his 24-track album, after prolonged delay.
