Monday Motivation : You need to sharpen your axe first

March 2,2020
Share:

It’s always advisable to take time to sharpen your axe before you go into the cutting.

Read this story ;

Aaaaah am late for the match and all the front seats will be taken by now.

Dennis speedily wore his clothes and rushing out met his mother who had an axe in hand.

Dennis – I’ve told you not to split firewood when ever am in the house

Mum – You were fast asleep didn’t want to disturb your sleep.

Dennis – Give me the axe let me quickly split them for you, am going to watch Chelsea match.

Mum – Don’t worry you can go ahead, I still need to sharpen the axe.

Dennis – Just give me the axe, I don’t have time to sharpen it. I will Miss the first half of the match if I do.

Dennis quickly collected the axe and with all the muscles he had continually hit the wood.

Kpaaar Kpaaar Kpaaar

He fired on but after several minutes he turned and realized that his yet to break out 3 pieces of firewood not to talk of enough for his mum to cook with.

Frustrated and angry for missing about 10mins of the match, he increased his speed and continued with what his doing.

Mum – Dennis if you listened and quickly sharpened the axe you will be out of here by now.

I heard people shouting from the place you watch match, looks like Chelsea have score or is it Chelsea they scored?

Dennis – please leave me alone mum, how are my supposed to answer that question?

Is it not you that made me stay here?

He angrily took the axe and went in to sharpen it.

If only we take time to actually think and know what ought to be done to ease our stress, most of us won’t be so worked up.

I get it that you want to start immediately so you can know how far you will go before the first quarter of the year.

Most of your mate have started out and it seems you are going to look not serious, lazy and then you think they will take it all for arriving first .

The truth is that strategic planning and critical thinking can take us farther than those who started out before us.

Unlike Dennis, take your time and sharpen the axe despite the fact you are in a hurry.

Once the axe is sharp, it will not take long for you to finish effectively and get to where you are going.

You will conserve more energy and at the same time finish strong.

We are all on a different pedestal despite the fact we coexist.

Your race is unique and quite different from that of others.

No matter when and where you begin, you will still be enthroned as the KING of your kingdom.

No one will hijack what’s truly yours but then you’ve got to be moving steadily and effectively .

Take your time, study the process, make your move, be consistent and persevere through it and you will be rewarded with a seat on your throne.

It’s a beautiful year and an opportunity to make a difference in every aspect we seem to be lacking behind.

Get on with it, ask for help when it seems you are confusing.

Don’t let anyone or anything take your shine away. You are destined for greatness.

Let’s make this year the best of our  lives.

Remember to always sharpen your axe so as to conserve your energy.

Have a blessed week.
