Mayorkun calls self music mayor in ‘Of Lagos’
Nigerian singer better known as Mayorkun, has put out a new single entitled ‘Of Lagos’ — barely a few days after the release of his four-track EP ‘Geng’.
The song, which was released in the late hours of Monday, as expected has Fresh VDM, a DMW in-house music man, as its producer while being engineered by STG, a Nigerian sound professional.
‘Of Lagos’ embodies beats typical of the singer’s style alongside vocals that come in sync with the song’s rhythm — reinforcing his self-proclaimed dominance as a ‘Mayor’ in the country’s music space.
The 26-year-old talented singer has continued to pull the strings of fame in the country’s music landscape with his critically acclaimed releases.
He was signed into DMW, a record label owned by Davido, renowned Afropop singer, in 2016.
The singer gained popularity after ‘The Mayor of Lagos’, his debut album, featuring D’banj, Davido, Patoranking among others, did great numbers across streaming platforms.
Mayorkun’s career strides have seen him scoop several awards including ‘Next Rated’ artiste at the 2018 edition of The Headies as well as ‘Artiste of the Year’ back in 2017.
