Dr Sid dedicates 40th birthday to his parents

Sidney Onoriode Esiri, Nigerian singer-songer better known as Dr Sid, has taken to social media to celebrate his parents as he turns 40.

In a lovely post dedicated to his parents on his Instagram page, the ‘Surulere’ crooner said he would not have been successful if not for the contributions of Justus Esiri, his late father, and Omiete, his mother.

Dr Sid also went on to appreciate others who have influenced his life positively in one way or other, adding that he hopes to celebrate them in a big way.

“I would have love to share this day with both my parents but 1 will have to do. They both shaped the man I have become today. So as I celebrate the big 40, I want to celebrate my parents and everyone who has been part of my growth and development. Thank you. Big announcement coming soon,” he wrote on Friday.

Born on May 1, 1980, the gifted singer has established himself as a household name in the Nigerian music industry with strings of projects.

His blissful career has seen him won a slew of awards including ‘Revelation of the year’ at the 2011 edition of The Headies and the ‘Best Afro Hip Hop Video’ category at the Nigerian Music Video Awards in 2009.

The Delta-born singer tied the knot with Simi Osomo, his wife, at Ikoyi Baptist Church, Lagos, in August 2014.

The couple would later welcome their first child Sydney at a US hospital in 2015 before having their second Sarah in 2018.
