Fashion tips: Know your figure and shop for it
Shopping for clothes is always on the top list of most ladies, but taking time to study their body and know what style of clothes will fit them more ranks last or never on their to do list.
This is why purchase is often made on impulse, either because the price is good, or because the colour is attracting.
You also tend to buy because its in vogue, or because your favourite celebrity donned it.
When you get home, your body finds it difficult to appreciate the item because its not suitable for your body type.
The right clothes have the ability to transform your mood and make you look and feel like the beat.
Unfortunately, if you don’t know how to dress for your body type, the act of shopping for clothes can be ultra depressing, especially when you just tried on ten pairs of jeans and nothing fits.
To avoid shopping depression, you have to first know your body type and be certain, your curved will appreciate the item.
Here are examples of body types, and styles of clothing that go with each.
The Hour Glass body shape
If you have an hourglass body shape, your shoulders and hips are exactly the same width, and your waist is well defined with a larger bust. You are generally curvy.
Women with an hourglass shape can wear just about anything.
Think highlight, not hide!, the goal is to emphasize those enviable curves and play up your petite waist.
Clothes to wear includes: fitted structure tops, v-necks, peplum, cropped tops, high- waist, flared, skinny jeans and jumpsuits; etc.
Avoid boxing clothing as it tends to overpower your figure.
The Inverted Triangle
Inverted triangle body shape has their shoulders broader than their hips.
Clothes which fit best for an inverted triangle shaped body includes tops with a scoop or v neckline, because they’ll make your shoulders appear narrower.
Avoid strapless tops because they’ll accentuate your broad upper body even more, off shoulder dresses or blouse should be far away from your wardrobe.
Triangle body shape
If your shoulders are narrower than your hips, you’re triangle body shaped.
Avoid skinny pants, ad it makes you appear wider than you are.
Rectangle body shape
This is the body shape that is most often referred to as “boyish”.
You can tell you’re a rectangle if your body is straight up and down with very little waist, and your shoulders and hips. are the same width
Clothes for a rectangular shaped body includes:
Puff sleeves, fit and flare, flowery dress belted at the middle, wrap dresses etc; all these creates a waistline for you.
Diamonds
People with this body shapes primarily gain weight in their midsections, and are round shaped so your goal is to define your waist.
Clothes that fit better includes wrap shirts and belts that holds in your midsection.
Avoid crazy patterns around your middle, as they accentuate the problem area
No matter which category you fall into, your primary goal is to use different clothes to achieve the illusion of a symmetrical, hourglass figure.
Some examples of clothing that can give you that includes: Belted sweater dress, Wrap dresses, geometric and patterned dress, fitted button down or blouse, belted coats and jackets, A-line knee length skirts.
