Five Things An Author Need To Do Before Publishing A Book.

Book Publisher who is also a longtime book promoter Tolulope Arogundade popularly known as (ToluBooks), in a recent interview has disclosed his motivation to becoming a Publisher.

According to him, his passion was ignited after a four month suspension from secondary school.

“I was inspired to have a book club after an unexpected event happened while in high school, I was suspended from school for four months. During that period was when I discovered my passion for sharing what I have read in books”.

ToluBooks who have published over 100 books alongside his team has travelled to different institutions both in Africa and America to talk about the importance of reading and also help thousands of authors talk about their books in front of potential readers.

He therefore encouraged aspiring authors to build audience, separating themselves from personal interest and focus on what their audience wants to read and not what they like to write about.

“know what your readers want, not what the you feel like writing before publishing a book”. He said

ToluBooks also said, Before any Author or aspiring Author publish their books, they have to put these Five things into consideration.

1.What their potential readers want.
2 .Where are they? It will not make sense to start talking about your books on a platform your potential readers are not.
3. What challenges are they facing? If you give your readers what they want they will give you want you need.
4. Do you have all it takes to be there for them?
5. If they don’t pay me will I still keep writing for them?

He also revealed that, upcoming authors need to start building audience before they think of publishing a book in other to penetrate the market and at the same time sustain the interest of readers.

Nonetheless, ToluBooks urged all parents to encourage their kids to read as the future relies on those who read to get information. Readers are leaders.

“If your kids see you reading, they will imitate you by reading”. He added.
