SAG Awards 2021: Chadwick Boseman Makes History With 4 Film Nominations

February 5,2021
Share:

Late American actor, Chadwick Boseman has made history as the first person ever to receive four nominations in a single year in the film categories of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.

In the list released on Thursday, the ‘Black Panther’ star snagged two posthumous nominations for lead actor in ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom’ and supporting actor for ‘Da 5 Bloods’ respectively.

The two movies were also picked for the ensemble category, making it a total of four nominations for the late actor.

It comes less than 24 hours after he also bagged a posthumous nomination for the ‘Best Actor in a Motion Picture’ category for the 78th edition of Golden Globes.

The annual awards are given by the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) to recognise outstanding performances in film and prime-time television.

This year’s edition of the event, which usually holds in January, is scheduled for April 4 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
