I condemn the Gruesome murder of Blessing Omowunmi – Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman says
In a Twitter thread, this morning, Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman condemned the reported rape and murder of Olajide Omowumi Blessing, a 300-level student of the University of Ilorin by some yet-to-be-identified persons
Shittu Blessing was found naked with her hands and neck tied on Wednesday night in her hostel at Tanke Oke-odo area of Ilorin.
The rapist left a note taped to her body saying “no forgiveness, from University of Ilorin”.
The Governor of Kwara state called on the security agencies to get to the root of this dastardly act to bring the mindless perpetrators to book. He also similarly called on anyone with valuable information to volunteer same to the security agencies.
He added “I sincerely commiserate with the parents of the deceased, her course/ housemates, and the university community on this sad incident, while praying the Almighty God to repose her soul.”
In conclusion, he sent strong warnings that the government will not tolerate indiscriminate violence against any person, he assured that the security agencies will get the perpetrators to pay heavily for this crime.
