  1. President Buhari stated that he has achieved success in the northeast and south-south, but that the security difficulties in the northwest have nearly overwhelmed him. However, he stated that the difficulties facing the northwest would be addressed as well.
  2. When asked what he plans to do once his term ends in 2023, President Buhari replied he will go to his farm regularly to keep himself occupied. “I’ve never abandoned my farm,” he remarked. In the interim, the president stated that he will continue to persuade Nigerians that he cares about them.
  3. When asked why his administration is building rail and road projects to connect the Niger Republic, the president stated that strong connections with neighbouring countries are necessary for security reasons. He also mentioned that the Niger Republic had discovered oil and that his administration prefers that the country “come through Nigeria, rather than through Benin Republic.”
  4. The president, speaking on the Boko Haram insurgency, said Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum is working extremely hard and taking a lot of risks. He said he recently changed service chiefs in order to re-energize the war against Boko Haram and other security threats. “You can’t kill innocent people and say God is great,” the president declared, condemning the Boko Haram militants. He blamed poverty and unemployment for part of the security problems, saying that the “level of poverty is almost unimaginable.”  Nonetheless, President Buhari said that his government has made tremendous progress, saying that Nigerians can tell the difference between when he took office and now.
  5. President Buhari has been silent on Twitter’s shutdown. ” I will keep to myself,” he answered when asked when the suspension will be lifted.
  6. President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Nigeria Police Force to be merciless in dealing with anybody or organization inciting disturbances in the country, particularly bandits in the northwest. “We have given the Police the directive to be ruthless with people stealing and destroying other people’s property,” he stated. In the coming weeks, you will see the difference.”
  7. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has accused President Buhari of not disciplining the killer herdsmen because he is one of them, according to President Buhari. The president stated that he cannot deny his Fulani heritage, but that the governor of Benue was harsh in his accusations.
