Food to Help Relieve Constipation

July 21,2021
Share:

Constipation is a frequent ailment that is typically caused by a person’s food and lifestyle. Certain meals can assist in increasing the frequency of bowel motions.

Constipated people may have hard, dry, or lumpy stools, stools that resemble small stones or marbles, pain and discomfort during bowel movements, a feeling of not being able to completely empty the bowels, a loss of appetite due to a constant feeling of fullness, a slightly swollen belly, or small streaks of bright red blood in the stools or on the toilet paper after wiping.

We’ll look at 5 foods that can help you have more regular bowel motions in this post.

Water

Constipation is frequently caused by dehydration, and drinking enough water can often help to alleviate or eliminate the symptoms. The intestines cannot add enough water to faeces when a person is dehydrated. Constipation might occur as a result of the hard, dry, and lumpy stools.

Yoghurt

Probiotics are microorganisms found in many dairy products, including yoghurt and kefir. Probiotic bacteria, often known as “good” bacteria, may assist to enhance gut health and soften faeces.

Pulses

The majority of beans, lentils, chickpeas, and peas are high in fibre, a nutrient that aids digestion and prevents constipation.

Pears and apples

Fibre, sorbitol, and fructose are all substances found in apples and pears that aid digestion. These fruits also have a lot of water in them, which can aid digestion and avoid constipation.

Eat apples and pears raw and whole, with the skin on, to get the maximum nutrition out of them.

Grapes

Grapes have a high skin-to-flesh ratio, which implies they’re high in fibre and have a lot of water in them. Consume a couple of handfuls of raw, washed grapes to relieve constipation.
