Buhari Celebrates, Onyeka Onwenu at 70

President Muhammadu Buhari has applauded and showered praises on renowned songwriter and singer, Onyeka Onwenu on the occasion of her 70th birthday.
In a statement signed by the special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adeshina, Buhari eulogized the award-winning singer for leading a life that keeps inspiring both the old and young.
The statement was titled ‘President Buhari greets Onyeka Onwenu at 70.’
“The President affirms that Onwenu’s creativity, sincerity of purpose, and diligence continue to bring glory to the country, starting out as an NTA presenter and reporter that caught the world’s attention by putting a spotlight on corruption in the ’80s, and releasing songs with great social and moral impact,” it read.
“The president said Onwenu directed her energy into sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ,” it added.
“He prayed that God would continue to bless Onwenu, the singer of “One Love’’, who is also known as the Elegant Stallion, with long life and good health.”
