Simple Ways To Reinvent Your Look This New Year

Ever heard the saying “New Year, new you”? There’s something about the dawn of a New Year that makes many people crave dramatic change, especially when it comes to physical appearance. A new look can give you the confidence you need to tackle the new year ahead! And, you don’t have to commit to a drastic or life-changing look either. Anything from a new hairdo to a new lip colour can be a refreshing change.

Here are a few simple, quick and inexpensive makeover tips to help you reinvent your look in this New Year.

Change your hair colour

One of the most tried and tested ways to transform one’s look is with a new hair colour. If you don’t want to spend money and hours on a saloon treatment, then try going a few shades darker with a home hair colouring kit. For a less permanent yet equally noticeable option, try spray-on hair colour in fun and crazy hues.

Modernise your manicure

Your nails may seem like a very small detail, but they actually say a lot about your personality and who you are. There’s just so much inspiration these days when it comes to nail art, you’re spoilt for choice. Visit your saloon and modernise your manicure.  If you currently opt for pale-pink polish and oval-shaped tips, try something different.

Change your hair

There is one place to begin, and this is with changing your hairstyle. There are a number of different ways you can do this. You can change your hair colour, or you can add some length with hair extensions, go for the chop and embrace a pixie crop.

If you’ve been parting your hair the same way for long, changing where you part your hair can be a simple way to change your look. If you usually part it to the side, try parting it in the middle or to the other side.

Remember, when choosing a hairstyle, it is important to consider the colour and style that will suit your face shape and skin tone.

Embrace a new lip colour

One of the easiest ways to make a real statement is by changing up your lipstick. Try choosing a new shade of lipstick, stain, or gloss. Do you currently wear a lot of nude lipsticks? If so, dare to be different and go for a statement red. If red is already a colour you wear a lot, why not opt for dark shades like violet and plum?

Get your skin glowing

Foundation isn’t the most thrilling makeup topic, but it makes a huge difference to your overall look. To get the most flawless finish, take your application technique up notch by using the sponge to smoothly blend colour and create the illusion of a perfect complexion. They never crumble, they’re washable, and the wedge shape makes it easy to get into corners, like the inner zones of the eyes and crevices around the nostrils.

Shape your eyebrows

Getting your eyebrows shaped can really help frame your face, flatter your features and make a difference to your appearance. Treat yourself by getting your eyebrows professionally shaped. Just book an appointment, sit back, and let the professionals get to work.

Play up your eyes in a whole new way

Deep-blue eye pencil is a great new alternative to basic brown and black, it’s just as subtle and versatile, but the blue undertones brighten the whites of your eyes, making you seem instantly less tired and more alert.
