Timi Dakolo reveals his kids know their mother was allegedly raped by pastor - Daily Post Nigeria

Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo, has come under fire for performing at the presidential declaration of former vice-president, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku officially declared his intention to contest in the 2023 presidential election at the international conference centre (ICC) in Abuja on Wednesday.

At the event, Dakolo thrilled guests with a colourful performance of ‘Great Nation’, his hit song.

The former vice-president also took to his Twitter page to share a video clip of the musician’s performance.

“The unity song by @timidakolo. One people. One future. One country. #OneNigeria #AtikuDeclaration.”

Atiku wrote in a terse post accompanying the video.

Dakolo’s performance at Atiku’s presidential declaration has provoked a chorus of condemnation among some Nigerians on social media platforms, especially Twitter.

While majority of users tackled him for attending the event despite his critical stance on the political happenings in the country, others, however, argued that he did nothing wrong.

Some twitter users wrote:

“If you collect N5m money to sing for a candidate that you don’t trust, you are not different from the poor man or woman that collects N5k to vote too.We have to stand upright in this country. You support Timi Dakolo, but you berate ‘Pastor’ Taribo West.”

“We are too hypocritical in this country. What exactly is the difference between Taribo west praying for Tinubu on his birthday and Timi Dakolo singing during Atiku’s declaration? Una hypocrisy will never end.”
