Stage play on sanusi Lamido to debut in August

A stage play centered on the lives of Emirs Sanusi Lamido I and II, Truth in Clay, is said to debut in August.
The play, produced by the Duke of Shomolu, is to be staged in Lagos and Abuja, according to a statement by Joseph Edgar, the Executive chairman of Duke of Shomolu.
Also, the play will depict the lives, drama and intrigues surrounding the detronement of both Emir Sanusi I and his grandson, Emir Sanusi II,
The recount will be made following the eyewitness account of some Dogari (palace guards),who served both Emirs.
Also, the play will depict the colourful tradition of the Fulanis and other people in Northern Nigeria.
The National Troupe of Nigeria has endorsed the production and announced partnership in it’s execution.
According to Joseph Edgar, the former Emir has confirmed his readiness to attend both performances to be held in both cities.
Truth in Clay was directed by Prof. Ahmed Yerima, who wrote and directed the Duke of Shomolu’s play, Aremu, a play that depicted the life of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
