Ice Prince detained, to be arraigned for assaulting police officer
Panshak Zamani, singer better known by his stage name, Ice Prince, has been taken into custody by the Lagos state police force on an accusation of assaulting a police officer.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Command’s public relations officer, revealed this in a statement that was posted on Twitter on Friday.
A police officer had allegedly stopped Ice Prince for driving without a license plate after receiving a complaint.
He was however, later kidnapped in the car by the singer of “Oleku,” who had initially agreed to follow him straight to the station, was assaulted by him, and threatened to be thrown into the lagoon.
Ice Prince has been detained, and he will be arraigned today, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest.
According to the statement:
“At about 3a.m @Iceprincezamani was stopped for driving without license plates. He agreed to be taken to the station.
He, thereafter, abducted the police officer in his car, assaulted him, and threatened to throw him in the river. He has been arrested and would be arraigned today.”
