I advised Davido to do music in Africa – Akon
When Nigerian music star, Davido, was attempting to be a rapper in America, Senegalese-American musician, Aliaune Damala Badara, popularly known as Akon said he advised him to instead, return to Africa and make music there.
According to Akon, Davido headed his advice and it paid off in the long run.
In his words;
At the time I was pushing ‘Thug Record’, Davido was in Atlanta trying to be a rapper. I told him, nigga you better move back to Africa and do your music over there. He listened and went back home. Today, he’s one of the biggest Afrobeats artists.
