The 11th edition of the Vanguard Personality of the Year Awards will remain memorable to attendees and winners, as they celebrated men and women, who have distinguished themselves as achievers of excellence in their various fields of endeavours.

Hi

Held at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, the event was compered by Nollywood duo, Deyemi Okanlawon, and Zainab Balogun, and began with an electrifying performance by live band specialist, Laolu Gbenjo, and his Alujo Band, who thrilled early callers with an array of tunes, past and present, taking them on a musical journey.

Nigerian reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter, Patrick Okorie better known as Patorankin, lit up the night with his array of songs especially his hit song which paid tribute to the awardees and encouraged guests to celebrate themselves. The evening’s entertainment also featured performances by Abere, The Saxophonist, while MC Remote, a comedian, delivered his punchlines excellently and carried the audience through a journey filled with laughter.

Fast-rising singer, Olowu Taiwo, better known as Eltee Skhillz, also thrilled the audience with his breakaway effort, ‘ODG (Odogwu Na The Spender)’ released in late 2021. Vanguard Personality of the Year Award ceremony, over the years, has carved a niche for itself as an award ceremony to look forward to on account of its power, pomp, and pageantry spruced with electrifying entertainment delivered in the most convivial atmosphere.

Legendary singers, the late Majek Fashek, Tuface Idibia, Flavour Nabania, Timaya, Kcee, Simi, Wande Coal, Adekunle Gold, and many more have performed at the award ceremony in the past.
