Celebrities react as LP’s Peter Obi defeats Tinubu in Lagos

Against popular predictions, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has won the Lagos State election for president.

According to results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the state, Peter Obi defeated Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party to win the state.

Nine of the state’s municipal governments were won by Obi.

These local government areas (LGAs) are Ajeromi-Ifelodun, Amuwo-Odofin, Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Kosofe, Oshodi-Isolo, Somolu, Ojo, and Alimosho.

Agege, Apapa, Badagry, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ifako-Ijaiye, Ikorodu, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Surulere saw Tinubu’s victory.

Many people have viewed Peter Obi’s victory in Lagos as unexpected given the APC’s past in the State.

See the reactions of some celebrities:

@mrmacaronii tweeted; Despite all the violence and intimidation unleashed in Lagos, Peter Obi has won Lagos State!!! The margin should be way more!!! I just want the people to know that the power is in our hands!!! They said no structure!! They said it is internet noise!!! LESSONS!!!!!”

@olayodejuliana wrote on Instagram: Even though, even though… after everything… we won in Lagos!

@iyaboojofespris wrote on Instagram: I hear say my Excellency Peter Obi won Lagos ….. na true or this one na fake? Make una help me confirm.

@latashalagos took to her Instagram account to write: It is smells like establishment is being torn down and strongholds are being broken. I’m here for it all MINUS the TRIBALISM, INEPTITUDE OF INEC, ELECTION MALPRACTICES & VIOLENCE. Your favorite, friendly neighborhood reporter Latasha AMANPOURiano NGWUBE reporting for duty!
