New Zealand actor, Sam Neill fights stage-three blood cancer
In a forthcoming candid memoir set to be released on Tuesday, Sam Neill has disclosed that he is undergoing treatment for stage-three blood cancer.
The actor initially noticed swollen glands during publicity for Jurassic World Dominion in the previous year and was later diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.
Despite undergoing chemotherapy, his condition failed to improve, prompting him to switch to a new chemotherapy drug, which he will receive monthly for the rest of his life, though he is currently free of cancer.
While acknowledging the challenging moments he experienced last year, he expressed gratitude for every day and appreciation for his friends.
He further stated that the difficult times have made him more thankful for life.
In his words;
I can’t pretend that last year hasn’t had its dark moments.
But those dark moments threw the light into sharp relief, you know, and have made me grateful for every day and immensely grateful for all my friends. Just pleased to be alive.
