Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has responded to charges that she owes her late colleague, Murphy Afolabi, N250,000.

Adunni Ade was publicly called out for allegedly collecting the amount for a job during the 8-day Fidau prayer of the late called out by the funeral committee.

They pleaded with her to return the money.

However, in a swift reaction to the allegation, the actress, through her team, has denied being indebted to the late actor.

In a statement issued and posted on her verified Instagram page, she stated that Murphy approached her for a job in 2021 and paid her N150,000. However, due to the death of her brother, she was unable to proceed with the job. She then offered to refund the actor’s money, which he asked her to hold on to till a later day, when he must have rescheduled the shoot.

She stated further that she could not go on with another deal when he eventually reached out to her, upon her return from the funeral of her own brother from the United States.

So she refunded his money after he provided her with his account details.

Adunni provided screenshot proof of transaction, to back up her claims.
