Natural Oils You Need To Know

Oils have been around for so long, as early as 1550 B.C. In fact, oils like argan oil were a numero-uno go-to for healing and beautifying the skin in the early days, both on the face and body.

Though conventional oils might be ubiquitous right now, natural oils have remained a beauty cabinet staple, thanks to their natural ability to moisturise and nourish a variety of skin types.
Experts say many natural oils are loaded with the ability to provide moisture, delay some signs of aging and make your skin feel and look better. Whether you are looking to eliminate redness, stop irritation or simply moisturise, find here some natural oil benefits you probably didnt know about.

Coconut Oil
Coconut oil protects, moisturises, and soothes dry skin, and so many celebrities have been fans for ages. This all-purpose oil is popularly used as a rich hair mask, an all-natural makeup remover, a cleansing oil, teeth-whitener, and a moisturiser.

Jojoba Oil
Jojoba oil helps regulate skins production of oil and is great for those with oily hair and skin. Jojoba oil helps to keep the skin moisturised. This may help prevent bacterial infections, acne, and dandruff from forming. It contains natural forms of vitamin E. This means that jojoba oil can help your skin fight oxidative stress caused by everyday exposure to pollutants and other toxins.

Rosehip Oil
Rosehip oils are packed with vitamin A, which is a retinoid; a chemical that helps to replace old skin cells with new ones and produces collagen, which can ease discoloration and stretch marks. Extracted from the seeds of wild rose bushes, rosehip oil can be used as a moisturiser due to its ability to hydrate the skin. It also contains beta carotene and vitamins C and E. Rosehips anti-inflammatory properties are beneficial for people with skin conditions such as eczema.

Tea Tree Oil
Many natural oils can actually make acne worse, but not tea tree oil. The antimicrobial properties in tea tree oil help get rid of bacteria inside your pores while also reducing swelling and inflammation. A little goes a long way, though. Dab any area with a cotton swab dipped in a bit of tea tree oil..

Shea Butter Oil
Shea butter is extracted from the nuts of a shea tree, which are native to West Africa. The final product is similar to cocoa butter in that it remains solid at room temperature before melting once it hits warm skin. Shea butter is high in phenols and plant sterols, which contain anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It particularly relieves dry skin, eases swelling and redness, prevents cell damage, improves eczema and provides sun protection.

Marula Oil
This oil, which is high in antioxidants, comes from the marula tree native to Africa. It is rich and moisturising. The fatty acids found in it also soothe dry skin. Marula oil is considered a lighter oil, so you can use it on oily skin without running the risk of worsening acne. This is due to its non-comedogenic properties that wont clog pores.
