Erimma Designs Showcases Unique Collections at African Fashion Designer Awards 2023

Erimma Designs, a distinctive fashion brand celebrated for its fusion of bespoke and ready-to-wear artistry, proudly displayed its elegant collections at the African Fashion Designer Awards held at Oriental Hotel Victoria Island, Lagos on November 19th, 2023.

The event was a glittering affair, hosting a constellation of esteemed fashion icons such as Steve Ray Fashion, 1981 Clothings, BG Wellington Suits, Mumini Fashion, Aoafriq, Tiannah Styling Fashion Academy and other upcoming designers. The occasion was not just a display of glamorous designs but also an opportunity to bring together industry leaders, fashion enthusiasts, talented designers from across Africa to showcase their designs and celebrate the achievements of icons who have left an indelible mark in the world of African fashion.

Erimma Designs participation was a testament to its growing influence and impact in the fashion industry. The brand showcased its exclusive collections named Muna, capturing the essence of African heritage and culture intricately woven into each design. Renowned designers present at the event shared effusive praise for Erimma Designs’ contributions and impact in the fashion industry.

Erimma Ezinne Obayi, the creative mind behind Erimma Designs, shared her journey and vision for the brand, emphasizing her passion for art, fabrics, and design motivated her to establish a distinctive mark in the fashion industry. She highlighted the brand’s commitment to showcasing African culture on a global platform, fostering intercultural relationships through their designs. Erimma has woven her talents into esteemed institutions like MTN Nigeria, University of Nigeria Nsukka’s Faculty of Arts, Enugu State Council for Arts and Culture, Ministry of Culture and Tourism Abia State, National Council for Arts and Culture, NTA Enugu and others.

Erimma Designs recognition by the Enugu State Government for providing fashion skill training to children stands as a testament to the brand’s commitment to nurturing young talents and contributing to the sustainability of the fashion industry.

At the event Steve Ray Fashion, an eminent figure in the fashion industry, commended Erimma Designs for its commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, saying “Erimma Designs beautifully merges tradition with modernity, presenting an exquisite tapestry of African culture through fashion.”
Ugo Paul Monye, another fashion icon who received the Lifetime Achievement of the Year Award at the event, praised Erimma’s vision, saying, “Erimma’s brand encapsulates the essence of African identity in a way that resonates globally. It’s a testament to her dedication and passion for celebrating our heritage through fashion.”

Erimma Ezinne Obayi, expressed her joy at being part of this illustrious event. She said “It’s an honor to be among such talented designers and to showcase my work on a platform that celebrates the richness of African fashion. The African Fashion Designer Awards night is a celebration of diversity, creativity, and the unbridled spirit of our continent.”

The African Fashion Designer Awards proved to be a night of glamour, cultural appreciation, and recognition for outstanding talents. As the fashion world continues to evolve, events like these serve as a testament to the ingenuity and brilliance that African designers bring to the global stage.
