Lagos celebrity fashion brand, House of Marvee, took fashion enthusiasts on a fantasy ride recently with the unveiling of its Spring/Summer ’24 Capsule collection called “Playground”, drawing the curtains on the Lagos Fashion and Design Week 2023. The penthouse of the Pier Harbor Apartments, Victoria Island, venue of the presentation was transformed into a House of Marvee gallery, allowing guests an up-close view of the womenswear couture label that is fast becoming a favourite amongst Lagos modish women.
Each piece in the collection was a meticulous celebration of detailing and handwork. From intricate beading to hand-woven fabrics, the capsule collection was displayed beautifully on mannequins and real-life models. For the Creative Director Marvy Joma, the distinct pieces in the collection reflect the uneven playing field of life, one she encourages women to embrace to adorn, to show up beautifully for themselves while standing strong in their femininity.
