Mo Abudu, Funke Akindele, Jade Osiberu make Most Powerful Women Int’l Film list
Mo Abudu, Funke Akindele, and Jade Osiberu’s dedication and innovation have earned them a spot on The Hollywood Reporter’s list of the 40 Most Powerful Women in International Film.
THR acknowledged them for continuing to find new models to produce, finance and distribute movies that amplify diverse voices.
Abudu, CEO, of EbonyLife Media broke the news on her Instagram page on Tuesday, saying “Seeing our nation celebrated for its incredible storytelling potential is so inspiring.” Adding that she is proud of being part of a movement pushing for a more inclusive film industry.
She wrote: “I’m incredibly proud to be part of a movement pushing for a more inclusive film industry that embraces the power of diverse stories. Huge shout out to my fellow Nigerian queens, @FunkejenifaAkindele and @JadeOsiberu, also making waves on this list!”
Reacting to the news, Osiberu thanked THR for the honour and said: “It always feels good to be recognized for my work and in the company of such rockstar women too.”
