What to pack for a weekend getaway

Weekend getaways are great ways to relieve stress, improve your mental health, and have real fun. Whether you’re exploring a new city, or escaping to a beautiful serene environment alone or with someone special, parking the right stuffs is key to ensuring an enjoyable trip. Planning one of such trips soon?

Find here Allure’s guide to packing for a weekend getaway without the hassle of overpacking or forgetting important essentials.

A portable luggage
This is the first you must put aside. Backpacks, weekend bags, and carry-ons are the luggage of choice for weekend trips because they let you fit all your essentials in one place. Remember, you have limited time on your trip, and carry-on luggage allows you to disembark and leave the airport immediately if traveling by air.

Clothing
Now that your luggage is decided, the following checklist is a basic example of what most people need for a weekend trip. Use it to double-check your bag before heading out.
*One pair of comfortable shoes
*One pair of pants or shorts
*Two to three tops
*Three pairs of undergarments
*Three pairs of socks
*One item of nightwear
*One lightweight jacket
*Swimwear (if needed)

Toiletries
You’re going to need toiletries for the trip even if hotels usually provide soaps and shampoos. Some items like sponge, hair brush or toothbrush are easy to overlook when packing and trust me, buying them right inside your hotel can cost you a regrettable fortune. Your toiletry checklist should therefore include the following:
*Sponge
*Toothbrush and toothpaste
*Hairbrush or comb
*Medication
*Basic makeup supplies
*Shaving kit
*Perfume/cologne
*Deodorant
*Hand sanitizers/face masks
*Lotion/Sunscreen

Electronic devices
Remember to pack your phones, power bank, a pair of headphones, and your charging cables!

Don’t forget your wallet, cash, credit cards, and any documentation or identity cards required for the trip too.
