Maximising Your Summer Break as a Student

Summer has arrived! While it’s a season for relaxation and enjoyment, with many families embarking on exciting vacations worldwide, it’s also a valuable opportunity for students to enhance their skills and advance their careers.

Whether you’re traveling or staying in Lagos, consider these activities to make the most of your summer break and boost your personal and professional development:

  1. Volunteer: Engage in volunteer work to help those in need, contribute your skills, or raise funds for a good cause. Work with NGO’s like the Red Cross, Rotary club etc and engage in the service. This activity can be a valuable addition to your CV and provide a feel-good factor.
  2. Take on an internship: Internships are an excellent way to build skills, network, and potentially open doors to career opportunities after graduation.
  3. Get a summer job: Working during the summer can help you socialise, build your CV, and prepare your bank account for the upcoming off-peak season rates.
  4. Work on personal development: Take time out for personal development planning, setting up action plans and goals within the scope of education, career, and self-improvement.
