Celebrated designer and creative director of Agbons‑GL, Glory Agbonita Ehizuenlen, unveiled a moving and visually striking artistic fashion showcase at the 10th edition of the Green October Event, held on October 1st, 2024 in Lagos.

Organized by La Mode Magazine in collaboration with the La Mode Disability Foundation, this year’s milestone event spotlighted inclusion, creativity, and social impact and Ehizuenlen’s showcase delivered on all fronts with grace, cultural depth, and transformative energy.

Held annually in commemoration of Nigeria’s Independence Day, the Green October Event has become a respected platform for fashion, philanthropy, and disability advocacy. In its 10th anniversary edition, Agbons‑GL’s presentation stood as a centerpiece of the fashion segment, honoring not only style and artistry, but also the resilience of marginalized voices through the universal language of design.

Glory Agbonita Ehizuenlen brought her signature fusion of tradition and modernism to the runway, unveiling a collection that paid homage to Nigeria’s cultural diversity while speaking to themes of dignity, empowerment, and unity. The garments featured handwoven fabrics, earthy tones, and dramatic silhouettes that echoed the rhythm of ancestral artistry while reflecting a modern, inclusive perspective. Every piece carried the quiet defiance of a designer committed to telling authentic African stories.

With models of varying abilities gracing the runway, the Agbons‑GL showcase embraced the event’s message of accessibility and visibility. The collection was not just designed to be seen it was designed to speak. Whether in the tailored power of a structured jacket or the soft fluidity of layered robes, the garments embodied a sense of liberation, offering a visual narrative of beauty in difference and strength in heritage.

The audience which included industry leaders, disability advocates, fashion press, and cultural influencers responded with standing ovations, drawn in by the emotional depth and aesthetic innovation of the showcase. Critics praised Ehizuenlen for her thoughtful integration of cultural design, ethical craftsmanship, and social consciousness, elevating the fashion segment into a space of dialogue and meaning.

Glory Agbonita Ehizuenlen’s participation in the Green October Event 2024 marked not just a creative highlight but a powerful alignment with the event’s values. With Agbons‑GL, she continues to redefine fashion as a tool for storytelling, advocacy, and empowerment. Her showcase offered a resonant reminder that fashion, when guided by purpose, can be both beautiful and transformative and can speak for those whose voices are too often unheard.

As La Mode Magazine and the La Mode Disability Foundation celebrated a decade of impact, the Agbons‑GL showcase served as a fitting tribute to the power of inclusive creativity. Glory Agbonita Ehizuenlen’s presence was more than a contribution it was a declaration of fashion’s ability to reflect who we are, what we remember, and what we dare to imagine.
