GTEXT Holdings, a leading real estate company in Nigeria, hosted the Global Property Conference on November 9, 2024, at the Landmark Event Center, Lagos.

Dr Stephen Akintayo, Chairman Gtext Holdings said the conference was imperative in order to foster real estate development in Nigeria and globally.

The chairman expressed his commitment to providing innovative and affordable housing solutions.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Akintayo Gtext for the opportunity to transform Nigeria’s real estate sector.

Dr. Akintayo pledged to partner with the government to create an enabling environment for real estate investment.

On his part, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, restated his administration’s determination to transforming the state into a smart city, where technology and sustainable urban planning converge

Recall that the governor, at different forums, stated that by 2030 the smart city ambition of the state would have been fully realised.

Sanwo-Olu, represented by Mrs Temitope Akinbola, the Director, Lagos State Real Estate Regulatory Authority, said the state government had initiated projects to improve housing affordability and infrastructure.

“Also, partnering with private investors to develop housing projects, meeting diverse income levels.

“This is all part of our larger vision to ensure that every Lagos resident has access to safe, secure, and affordable housing, “ the governor said.

Renowned lawyer and activist Femi Falana (SAN), in his keynote address, advised prospective real estate investors to seek professional advice, ensure proper documentation, and maintain integrity.

Falana emphasised the challenges faced by real estate developers in Nigeria due to government inaction.

Falana highlighted the alarming statistic that 95 per cent of land properties in Lagos remain unregistered, hindering the country’s development.

He urged the government to streamline registration processes, reduce documentation costs, and protect investors from harassment.

The conference provided a platform for industry experts to share insights and experiences.

Speakers emphasised the importance of transparency, accountability, and government support in the real estate sector.

Falana stressed the potential of real estate as a lucrative profession, particularly for young women and men.

He, however, noted that Nigeria’s high interest rates and lack of government guarante hinder investment.

Also, to commemorate its 9th year of excellence, GTEXT Homes hosted a spectacular dinner, bringing together staff, realtors, valued clients, and stakeholders.

The evening was filled with merriment and recognition, honoring staff and realtors for their dedication and clients for their loyalty.

As GTEXT Homes looks to the future, it reaffirms its pledge to continue providing top-notch real estate solutions, building strong relationships, and delivering exceptional service.

With its commitment to innovation and affordability, GTEXT Holding remains a leader in Nigeria’s real estate industry.
