Ireti Doyle to Receive Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award in Film at 2024 SDTA Awards

The Supreme Dynamic Talent Academy Awards (SDTA Awards) has announced that renowned Nollywood actress, Iretiola Doyle, will be the recipient of the Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award in Film at the 2024 SDTA Awards.

The award recognizes Doyle’s significant contributions to the advancement of the Nigerian film industry and her influence on generations of actors who grew up admiring her work.

Ireti Doyle was announced as the Designee of the Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award for 2024 during a lavish ceremony at the SDTA Awards press launch, held at the Lagos Continental Hotel on November 3, 2024. The event was attended by industry professionals, top-tier guests, and
members of the press.

The SDTA Awards, which celebrates the careers of deserving artists, creatives, and talents from both local and international spheres, selected Doyle for her exceptional talent and her commendable body of work that has spanned over two decades in the Nigerian entertainment industry. Doyle’s work cuts across stage, television, film, and print, and she is known for her roles in hit TV series such as Riddles and Hopes, Tinsel, and Gidi Up, as well as her performances in films such as Across the Niger, Sitanda, Torn, and Fifty.

The Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honour bestowed annually by the SDTA Awards, recognizing a lifetime of significant achievements and contributions to society. “It is aimed at individuals who prioritize service above self, have attained notable professional stature and influence, possess a commendable and trailblazing body of work, and have utilized their experiences and skills to uplift others in their respective fields.” says Amb. Hon. Zino Lexili Ogazi , President and Chairperson of SDTA.

“Why do we often wait until our legends and heroes have passed away to celebrate them in a grand manner and honour them with lifetime achievement awards for their years of sacrifice and contributions to their fields and society? Don’t get me wrong, posthumous awards have their place, but it’s truly more meaningful for recipients to be alive, join in the celebration, and receive their awards in person.”

Zinos Lexili Ogazi stated that she was particularly impressed with the Supreme League’s selection for the 2024 Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award in film designee.

She noted “Lady Doyle is undeniably a talented, top-tier, A-list actress, and it brings me great satisfaction to see this veteran recognized as the first woman to receive this prestigious award at the SDTA Awards. She’s not just a fantastic actor; Lady Ireti Doyle is also an accomplished actor, writer, producer, and presenter—a full creative, if I must say.”

On her part, Ireti Doyle says creativity and talent are the glue and the fuel of the global village, helping people work together despite differences, bridging gaps through cultural understanding, and inspiring hope through a shared horizon. “These are the qualities that make it possible to imagine and
actively build a better, more interconnected future, where the strengths of one community can support and enhance the strengths of another.
“On a personal note, I’d like to thank the Supreme Dynamic Talent Academy awards, Amb. Zino and her entire team. It is a high honour to receive this year’s Supreme Lifetime Achievement Award. To be the first woman in the four-year history of the award makes it doubly sweet.“

Amb. Zino Lexili and Ireti Doyle

The SDTA Awards is a prestigious and global awards organization originating from Africa, with the objective of recognizing and celebrating the excellence and dynamism of African and international creatives and talents in the creative arts and entertainment industry.

The awards aim to promote and celebrate the Global Supremacy of Talent and Creativity, fostering economic growth, inclusiveness, cultural exchange, friendship, and global peace.

The 2024 SDTA Awards will be held in Ghana on December 15, 2024, and will celebrate Doyle’s exceptional contributions to the film industry.
