O’Saunders stuns with Artisan Collection at 10th Music Fashion Runway

Eponymous fashion brand, O’Saunders, recently marked her grand presence at the annual Music Fashion Runway in Lagos, with the showcase of her newest collection, The Artisan.

Featuring wearable art pieces, a major highlight of the collection generally inspired by abstract arts was the infusion of beautiful paintings on almost 99 percent of the pieces, in testament to the brand’s artistic philosophy.

Each piece was meticulously crafted from rich cotton fabrics, blending artistic elegance with everyday comfort while celebrating high fashion.

From couture to eccentric ready-to-wear pieces which flooded the runway, there were evening gowns, swimwear, occasional wears, lounge wears, and a few everyday wears.

One of the standout pieces was a predominantly white two-piece comprising an asymmetric dress top and a loose flared pant that captivated the audience with its touch of dramatic ballon sleeves and simple but graceful round neckline.

In a couple of other looks, cropped jackets, sleeveless dresses, casual two-pieces in conservative hues ranging from white to off-white and black, showcased O’Saunders’ innovative approach to artistic designs as the paintings inscribed on the pieces powerfully spoke through the designs.

For Olabisi Saunders, the Founder/Creative Director of O’Saunders, a firm believer in fashion as a tool for artistic expression, the collection, though in line with the brand’s philosophy, is a slight deviation from the brand’s signature flamboyant structure and pattern.

“Though this is structured, I sort of toned down on some of my big sleeves and let the paintings speak for me this time around,” Saunders said.
