There’s hope for female president, vice president in Nigeria – DJ Cuppy
Popular Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, known as DJ Cuppy, has expressed her belief that Nigeria will one day elect a female President.
She remarked that Namibia’s recent achievement, being the first African country to have both a female President and a female Vice President, could inspire hope for women in Nigeria.
In a post on her X handle, Cuppy stated, “Namibia just made history. Africa’s FIRST country with BOTH a female President AND a female Vice President. Maybe there’s hope for Nigeria one day after all.”
It’s worth noting that Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was recently sworn in as Namibia’s first woman President after winning elections last year, alongside Vice President Lucia Witbooi. This milestone makes Namibia the first African nation to have both a female President and a female Vice President.
