Skinetics Launches Abuja Centre Today

… Expands National Footprint With Renewed Focus on Training and Standards

By Yemisi Suleiman

The city of Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital is agog as Skinetics, one of Nigeria’s foremost aesthetic and skincare brands, officially opens its new Abuja centre today, November 29, marking a major milestone in its nationwide expansion.

The launch follows a press briefing earlier in the week, where the brand’s leadership reaffirmed its commitment to professional standards, world-class training, and safe, science-driven skincare.

Founded in 1994 first as Skin Essence, in Los Angeles, California, where its Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Dr. Bruce Nwachie, lived and practised for nearly 27 years, later metamorphosed as Skinetics in Nigeria. Over the years Skinetics has evolved into both a full-service aesthetic clinic and a training institute, with headquarters in Lagos.

Speaking on the expansion to Abuja, Dr Bruce says, the move became necessary as demands have increased “As we grew, we realized our patients in Abuja needed us closer. A lot of our clients kept asking us to come to Abuja. A great man Dr. Everest, even offered us free space to set up shop. We have been working on it for the past three months. Finally, thank God, we’re able to complete everything we set out to do. All the equipments are in place, the doctors are in place, the nurses are in place.”

Dr Bruce noted the journey for good skin and holistic health care has started, as the brand continues to advocate for regulated, well-trained practice within the beauty and wellness sector.
Speaking at the briefing, Dr. Nwachie highlighted the growing need for proper education in the industry.
“We have come to realize that in the beauty industry in Nigeria there are so many fake people out there. They go to YouTube to learn, we call them YouTube university students, they go to TikTok etc. So, we decided to open a school because in skin care there is zero margin to error.”
The Lagos flagship remains the company’s primary facility, staffed by certified doctors and nurses and offering dermatological care, cosmetic procedures, and professional training for aestheticians and medical practitioners.
Ahead of the Abuja launch, Chief Operating Officer and aesthetic physician, Dr. Chuka Imo, emphasised that the capital already has a strong and eager client base.

“We’re passionate about anti-aging, helping people prioritise skin care. We do not just do procedures, we build relationships with clients. There is high standards here; Abuja clients expect nothing less.”

Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Mike Maduka, noted that the strength of the team remains central to Skinetics’ results.
“At Skinetics, teamwork is everything. Our exposure and expertise guide the results we deliver, and that is what continues to set us apart.”
Supporting this, aesthetic physician Dr. Michael Awa disclosed that the team recently completed advanced training abroad.
“Teamwork drives results. We recently went for an upgrade course in Europe and we did a lot of trainings. That is what we are bringing back to Nigeria to offer our clients in Lagos and Abuja. We offer world-class trainings and treatments here.”
Operations lead Oke Nwachie oversees compliance and standards across locations, ensuring that only certified professionals are employed as the brand expands.

With the Abuja centre now opening, and more cities on its expansion map, Skinetics says its goal remains consistent: raising industry standards, providing safe, evidence-based aesthetic treatments, and delivering holistic lifestyle solutions built on the belief that while aging is inevitable, “looking old is a choice.”
