At the just concluded edition of the fashion show which held on the 23 and 24 of May 2026, a spectacular performance was experienced by the guests and the crowning of Day 1 was Urban Fit Africa showcase.

Led by the creative genius of Tiamiyu Adeyinka, Urban Fit Africa brought Afro-urban fashion to the fashion week with bold apparel designs made to keep you looking effortlessly voguish. Proudly made in Nigeria, each piece blends modern street-inspired style with confident cultural expression.
Adeyinka presented a never before seen experience on the Nigerian Fashion Runaway this weekend as he presented his apparels in such a tasteful and stylish way which earned him the applause of guests and organizers of the show. Slated to be the last showcase for Day 1 he brought sports to the runway in an epic twist. He had pro boxers, Tiamiyu Hassan aka Thiago and Qoyum Kareem open the floor before the arrival of the models which took the guests by storm as they expressed undeniable excitement.

One would wonder what drove this artistic expression of blending boxing and fashion seamlessly? Adeyinka surely does have an answer to that but on what drove the concept of his collection and why the boxers became of his show he explained that, “Our new collection titled, Ezenwa the Child King was expressed as a youthful display of an African urban child. What we are known for is how we fuse in high end urban designs with our local fabrics and this time we didn’t just create a design we infused sports. We have always been a brand that support sports and also produce some sport gears which was what we proved by bringing sport to the runway in the form of boxing.”

In a bid to support an emerging creative, Adeyinka also featured Craft by Merit who brought in the bags used as accessories by his models. One thing that can be taken away from this showcase is that this latest collection is a vibrant fusion of heritage and contemporary cool. The brand artfully blended the rich textures of authentic aso-oke and adire with the effortless style of denim and the drape of silk. Each piece was designed to capture that youthful, energetic vibe, proving that tradition can be both timeless and incredibly trendy.
