Eddie Murphy gets a 2017 Oscar Nominee for his role in new movie, Mr Church

eddie-murphySuper star actor and comic legend featured as Mr Henry Joseph Church in a new movie, Mr Church. In the movie, he plays the role of a black man raising and caring for a white girl, Charlie in the 70s after her mother, the family cook was diagnosed of cancer. Britt Robertson plays the character of Charlie in the movie. Popularly known as ” Prince Akeem” in the 1988 flick, Coming to America, Eddie Murphy receives massive reviews for the new movie.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the awards will be considering Eddie Murphy in the best supporting actor category instead of the one for the best actor. This decision is influenced by his performance in the movie. The last movie that the comedian had appeared in, was A thousand words’and it was released four years ago. Do you know that this is Eddie Murphy’s first Oscar nomination since his last award as the Best Supporting Actor in 2007 at the Screen Actors Guild Awards for his role in Dreamgirls?

In this new movie, Eddie Murphy gives an unusually subdued performance, no funny lines to hide behind. A private screening of the movie-Mr Church held in Los Angeles on September 6, 2016. Mr Church will premiere worldwide on September 16 2016.
